Andrew Haslen was born in 1953. He lives in Suffolk with his wife, two daughters, two dogs, three tortoises and a cat.

Andrew started as a landscape artist being taught mainly in oils before deciding to pursue his lifelong interest in painting and sketching British wildlife.

He has been strongly influenced by the work of artists such as R B Talbot Kelly and Eric Ennion. In 1988 he was elected a member of the Society of Wildlife Aritists and in the same year he opened The Wildlife Art Gallery in Lavenham.
